Weeknight Lane Closures in Battery Park Underpass

Battery Park Underpass overnight work is planned through spring 2013
Battery Park Underpass overnight work is planned through spring 2013

Starting Monday, March 4th, the south tube of the Battery Park Underpass (from West Street to the FDR Drive) will be closed on weeknights; and the right lane of the north tube will be closed. During the closures the state Department of Transportation (SDOT) will be replacing wall panels and performing other renovations. Lane-closure hours will be Monday through Friday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday morning 1 to 8 a.m. The operation will continue through approximately late June 2013.

The work is part of the SDOT West Street Promenade project, and is being coordinated with work continuing on West Street (Route 9A) at both the World Trade Center and the World Financial Center, as well as along the East River Waterfront.

Questions about the project can be addressed to the SDOT Community Outreach Liaison Julie Nadel at 1-800-714-0454 orroute9a@dot.state.ny.us.
