Tax-Free Shopping Time

Tax-free shopping lasts through February 6
Tax-free shopping lasts through February 6

Tax-free shopping week is here again! From Monday, January 31, through Sunday, February 6, New York City and State will lift the sales tax on purchases of clothes, shoes, and accessories.

The semiannual tax-free week, which eliminates the 8.65 percent tax on above items that cost less than $110, not only helps shoppers save money, but also gives retailers a boost during January and February, when sales are traditionally slower.

Lower Manhattan is chock-a-block with retail stores, all of which will honor the week's no-tax provision. To locate specific retailers downtown, please click here for a list of downtown business directories.
