LMDC Announces Contracting Conference for Minority- and Women-Owned Businesses

Tuesday, Dec. 23: A free conference to help minority- and women-owned businesses learn about and bid competitively on contracts related to the redevelopment process in Lower Manhattan has been scheduled for mid-January, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation announced today.

The conference, entitled "Opportunity Downtown," will be held on January 13, 2004, at Pace University from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Businesses wishing to attend are asked to register by December 31, 2003, at www.RenewNYC.com.

According to an analysis released by the LMDC in October, the construction of the World Trade Center will sustain an average of 8,000 jobs each year through 2015.
