Bogardus Plaza Spring Upgrades in May

Bogardus Plaza opened in 2010
Bogardus Plaza opened in 2010

Beginning May 1st, the city Department of Transportation will make several improvements to the pedestrian plaza on Hudson Street between Chambers and Reade. Known as Bogardus Plaza for its proximity to the triangular Bogardus Garden on its east side, the area became a vehicle-free zone in late 2010. The upcoming improvements include replacing the green paint with a crushed-gravel surface, installing flexible delineators to mark the plazas borders, and adding more street furniture. The plaza is maintained by the Friends of Bogardus Garden community group.
