About the Director -- Rick Livingston

Fredrick (Rick) Livingston is the Director of Construction and joins the LMCCC with a background of over thirty-eight years of extensive experience in the engineering and construction industry.  He is responsible for managing and coordinating all construction in Lower Manhattan, and the deconstruction of 130 Liberty Street.

Before coming to the LMCCC, Mr. Livingston worked for ABB SUSA, INC., a subsidiary of Asea Brown Boveri. He spent 17 years there, beginning as a Total Quality Manager and Manager of Cost & Schedule Engineering.  Working his way up, he moved from various positions, one of which took him to the Ukraine for a year as a Housing Project Manager.  There he managed the construction of six apartment buildings in Khmelnitsky, Ukraine as part of the Nunn/Lugar program to denuclearize the former Soviet Union countries.  He ended his career at ABB SUSA as the Director of the Embassy Construction Program, where he was responsible for the successful execution of SUSA’s U.S. Department of State embassy construction projects. He was also in charge of all Department of Defense Security Activities.

Prior to that, he worked at Turner Construction Company as the Chief Estimator & Manager of Preconstruction Services, where he oversaw the preparation and review of all estimates for various types of international commercial construction projects.

Mr. Livingston graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Villanova University.  He later received his Masters Degree in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and was certified in 1996 as an ISO 9000 Auditor.
