Robin
I. Forst is director of community relations of the Lower
Manhattan Construction Command Center, accountable for
communication and interaction with the residential and
business communities as well as elected officials regarding
Lower Manhattan construction activities. She is the
main point of contact for stakeholders and stakeholder
groups regarding the impact of construction projects
in Lower Manhattan. Ms. Forst is responsible for responding
to constituent concerns, complaints, and requests for
support and information from the downtown community.
Before becoming director of community relations of
the Command Center, Ms. Forst was deputy chief of staff
in the office of Council Member Alan Gerson, who represents
Lower Manhattan in the New York City Council. While
there, she worked on the revitalization of Lower Manhattan
in the aftermath of 9/11, developing policies and programs
related to redevelopment and rebuilding.
Prior to moving into the public sector, Ms. Forst spent
many years in the private sector, including nearly 15
years in human resource consulting. She was founder
and president of Forst Associates, Inc., where she conducted
numerous executive search assignments and consulted
on organization strategy and management development.
Prior to starting her own business, Ms. Forst was vice
president at WTW Associates, Inc. and a principal at
Judd-Falk, Inc., both human resource consulting firms.
Prior to human resource consulting, she held a variety of human resource positions at ABC, Inc., now part of the Walt Disney Company.
Forst holds B.S and M.S. degrees from Cornell University. She currently serves on the Board of Friends of Lower Manhattan and Battery Park City Cares, which she helped found in 2004.
She is the recipient of the 2005 Exceptional Service Award from the Downtown Alliance. |
