he terminal is planned to open in November 2007

A new, permanent ferry terminal is coming to Battery Park City in 2008. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is installing the $69.1 million terminal outside the World Financial Center, just north of the North Cove.

The new terminal will float on a 32,000-square-foot barge that was constructed in Texas and is now in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, being outfitted with its canopy, glass walls, interior amenities, and ramping and operational systems. Once complete, the barge will be towed to its permanent location on the Hudson River.

The terminal will be home to five slips, seating, concessions, and other public amenities, and will service current ferries, as well as planned future ferry service to Yonkers, New York.
