Maiden Lane Early Morning Work Maiden Lane between Pearl and Gold Streets 12:00 AM -7:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2009
On Monday, October 19, 2009 early morning work will be conducted by Con Edison steam crews from 12:00Am – 7:00Am on Maiden lane between Pearl and Gold Streets. This is utility work that is necessary to expedite the overall project schedule. The New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) is committed to ensuring that the noise levels are in compliance with the NYCDEP Noise Code.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS:
- Travel lane will be maintained.
- Due to nature of the work there will be equipment moving in this area. Please drive with caution.
- Entry to Parking lots and loading docks will be maintained and/or coordinated as needed.
PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS:
- Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

The DDC Continues Work on Liberty Street
The New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) is managing a capital construction project along Liberty Street between Nassau and Gold Streets, Maiden Lane between William and Water Streets and Pearl Street between Fulton and John Streets. In addition, the Louise Nevelson Plaza will be reconstructed.
WORK COMPLETED AS OF August 2009
Below is a list of work locations and activities that have been completed to date:
Location 1: Liberty Street (Nassau Street–William Street):
Location 2: Pearl Street (Fulton Street- John Street):
Location 3: Louise Nevelson Plaza:
- Excavation of the sub-grade of the plaza.
- Installation of the artwork piece “Rainbow conversations” on the fencing surrounding Plaza.
WORK SCHEDULED for September- October 2009:
Below is a list of work locations and activities slated to occur / to be completed:
Location 1: Liberty Street (Nassau Street–William Street):
- Begin sidewalk replacement
Location 2: Pearl Street (Fulton Street- John Street):
Location 3: Louise Nevelson Plaza:
- Begin filling with grout.
Location 4: Maiden Lane (Water Street – Gold Street):
- Complete sidewalk on the south side and move to north side between Water and Pearl Streets
- Relocate existing utilities
- Shift to north side and begin excavation between Pearl and Gold Streets
