The pier will be home to numerous amenities
|
The Hudson River Park Trust launched the Tribeca-segment reconstruction in summer 2006. Funded by the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and the State and City of New York, the $100 million project is rehabilitating the piers and rebuilding the “uplands” (shore areas) from Houston Street to Stuyvesant High School, at the north end of Battery Park City.
The first phase of the project was completed in July 2008, when the uplands adjacent to Pier 40 opened to the public. The Trust began the next construction phase south of Laight Street in fall 2008, including a renovated, landscaped waterfront esplanade with new public restrooms, skate park, basketball court, seating, dog run, lawns, and other small park buildings.

| Pier 25-26 work through June 2009 |
Located between Franklin and N. Moore Streets, the rebuilt Hudson River Park Pier 25 will be home to a miniature golf course, beach volleyball courts, children’s playground, Water Taxi dock, and an artificial lawn on the western end. Pier 26, between N. Moore and Hubert Streets, is the planned home of a community boathouse, waterside café, and estuarium -- though the estuarium’s funding has not yet been secured. Historic ships will be moored between the piers, while a mooring field will be available south of Pier 25. Further north on Pier 34 (at Canal Street), a fishing pier is planned to share the pier where the Holland Tunnel vent shaft is located.
The project work schedule and dates are provided by the project sponsors. Locate this project on the Interactive Streetwork Map.
