In fall 2006, contractor Boston Properties began the first stage of façade restoration on the Federal Building at 90 Church Street, which houses the U.S. Post Office. The landmark Art Deco structure, opened in 1937, is clad in limestone that over the years has developed small faults and fissures.
Summary
Located across Vesey Street from the World Trade Center site, the building underwent major interior and exterior repairs after 9/11. This project followed the city’s Local Law 11/98, requiring building façade repair every decade.
